  1. Drink Water:
    Water is the best remedy for eliminating sleepiness. Drinking water revitalizes the cells of our body. After drinking a glass of water, you’ll notice that the drowsy feeling disappears. At the same time, drinking water helps prepare the brain to work again and Beat the Afternoon Slump.
  2. A Cup of Tea or Coffee:
    Tea or coffee is one of the most effective drinks for getting rid of drowsiness. After lunch, drinking a cup of tea or coffee will instantly remove the sleepy feeling. The caffeine in tea or coffee is very effective in keeping the brain alert.
  3. Take a Walk:
    Sitting still or reclining in a chair can make the drowsy feeling even worse. So, take a 5-minute walk. This will help relieve body fatigue and also eliminate the sleepy feeling. Beat the Afternoon Slump

  6. Listen to Music:
    Music helps maintain balance in the brain’s rhythm. When you feel sleepy, quickly listen to an upbeat song with a fast beat. The drowsy feeling will disappear.
  7. Food:
    Fatty foods tend to make you feel sluggish and sleepy. To avoid afternoon or evening sleepiness, eat a balanced and healthy meal, and try snacking on nuts or chewing gum, which can also help keep you awake.
  8. Acupressure:
    To get rid of sleepiness, you can apply pressure on certain points of the body. These points include the top of the head, the back of the hands, just below the knees, and the back of the neck. Apply pressure on each point 20 times, taking brief breaks between each application. This will relieve fatigue and also help banish the drowsy feeling.
