According to a report by Indian news outlet Anandabazar, Sarvangasana offers multiple benefits: it improves blood flow throughout the body, promotes mental calmness, reduces anxiety, eases arm and lower back pain, and prevents blood clots caused by long periods of sitting. Fitness experts warn that skipping this exercise regularly might deprive you of these important health benefits.

How to Do Sarvangasana:

  1. Lie down flat on your back.
  2. Slowly raise both legs upward.
  3. Bend your elbows and place your hands on either side of your waist.
  4. Using your elbows for support, lift your waist and legs upward so that your body forms a straight line.
  5. In the 90-degree position, your big toes should align with your head.
  6. Keep your chin tucked into your chest and hold the pose. Repeat three times.

If you find it difficult at first, try doing it with your legs supported against a wall. With time and practice, you can master the correct form of Sarvangasana.
